Easy Summer Activities to Help You Stay Cool

While most people might not know, June 21st is the longest day of the year, giving you plenty of ways to live it up this summer. Are you looking for ways that you can get your kids outside and have some fun instead of being inside watching television or on their tablets or phones?

You want to give them incentives to be outside, and what could encourage them more than to have a chance to get soaking wet? Below are three things that you can do this summer with your outdoor plumbing, that are budget-friendly, for just about anyone and that will be fun for your whole family.

Create a Kickball Game with a Sprinkle and Slide

sprinklerandslideKids love getting wet when the weather is hot. So why not turn a fun game that everyone loves to play into something that will cool them off with a kickball sprinkle and slide?

All you need is some sheeting, four small inflatable pools, and your sprinklers. You set up the sheeting as paths that they run around in kickball and the pools are the bases.

Then you play kickball just like normal. But instead of getting dirty, when you run around the bases, you get soaking wet! A great way for anyone to get their exercise and to stay cool at the same time. Adults and kids are going to love it!

Have Hose Fights Like a Game of Tag

hosefightsIf you are looking for a fun way that you can get your kids outside this summer and help them stay cool, use your hose to create a whole new way to play tag.

Rather than the person who is it running up and tapping someone, they spray them with the hose. Then that person becomes it and gets to use the hose to create the new person who is it.

If you would rather not use your hose, you can do the same thing with a water pistol. The person who’s it has a water pistol and has to spray someone else for them to become it.

Use Water Balloons Rather Than Balls

This way they are going to stay cool and still have fun outside. Imagine playing baseball or even badminton with a water balloon. Everyone’s going to get cooled off and have a great time outside in the yard!

These are just three of the things that you can do to encourage your kids and the whole family to get outside this summer and take advantage of the warm weather. Even if you don’t have a pool, there are a lot of great ways that you can stay cool.

Make it a family fun day and invite your neighbors to join you. You may even start a whole new tradition. Check out our blog to see other great suggestions throughout the year. If you have any questions about what services we can offer you, please get in touch.
